During the fall of 2012, Candice and I set off on a one-month trip from San Francisco to the tip of South America. We made our way from Punta Arenas, Chile up to Santiago, Chile -- zigzagging from Chile to Argentina and back several times to cross mountains, lonely roads, and amazing towns and nature. Above is the pre-planning we did and map we used to try and figure out where we would go. We learned quickly that our plan would change drastically as buses and accommodations weren't always on the same time schedule we hoped to meet.
